Congratulations Cadets, you did it!!
Believe me, I know it wasn't easy. The WVSAYLA isn't your typical summer camp. It is a very tough place to be and an even tougher place to stay. I'm sure, after the 1st day, you questioned yourself and wondered "WHAT have I gotten myself into!". After the 2nd day, I know many of you wanted to leave. Actually, several kids did leave! The rest of you stuck it out and, as promised, there were tears everywhere on Graduation Day. Even with the heat index soaring above 105 and the power being out for nearly 24 hours, you still hung in there and made it all the way to Graduation. That is a huge accomplishment and you should take pride in yourself for making it that far. I'm sure a lot of your friends would have never made it all week. You made new friends and hopefully learned a few things along the way. If nothing else, you learned to keep your water bottle with you at all times!!!!!! haha I hope you are as proud of yourself as we are of you. Thank you for attending the 2005 West Virginia Sheriffs' Association Youth Leadership Academy and for helping to make it such a success. We look forward to seeing you next year! Your Academy Staff Below is the list of graduating cadets. Now, rather than trying to remember who is who, you are able to click on a name, see that person's picture and NOT forget about each other! These are friends who could last a life time. |
